I’d like to thank A Circle Of Twelve for all their support! Before I got that call from Jan, I was going through a real rough patch, and
even though life continues to throw obstacles, I now know that there exists a group of people that believe in me, and that is the most reassuring
feeling! As a musician, it is difficult to meet other’s expectations of me, and even my own. A Circle Of Twelve has helped me to see that I
am notjust a small piece of a bigger puzzle, but rather that I have unlimited potential!
The educational grant that I have received has helped me to focus my efforts on other aspects of life. SANBI (Success, A New Beginning) had been a huge part of my life. Their kind hearts and wise minds have helped me to realize that even though it is important to take care of oneself, there are others that need help. I take pride in being part of SANBI and their community enhancement endeavors; organizations like SANBI and A Circle Of Twelve keep me humble and rooted to Earth.
I am currently a student at Santa Monica College, though I hope to transfer to UCLA sometime soon to pursue degrees in both Ethnomusicology and Astrophysics. I plan to give back as much as I can when I make it in life, but right now I understand that I have to work on myself to get there. I am far from perfect, but with the help of A Circle Of Twelve and SANBI, I know I am now headed in the right direction. Thanks again for believing in me!!!
